Supermarket 2010

www.supermarketartfair.com

Wschodnia Gallery has been invited by the organizers and Polish Institute in Stockholm to participate in one of the most prestigous art events in Sweden,
the international "art fairs" Supermarket 2010.
The idea of the fairs is to present the galleries which are being ran by the artists themselves and to show possibilities to create a cultural network
of international collaboration between the galleries.

Supermarket gathers few thousands visitors every year. This year there will be over sixty galleries presented from all over the world.

Due to the localization, in the most important culture center in Scandinavia, Kulturhuset, the organizers expect several thousands visitors.

Supermarket program, apart from galleries presentations, includes seminaries and meetings with invited project managers, artists who run their galleries and other important members of the international art scene. There will be discussions about financing problems, projects organizing and where the participants are able to exchange their experiences and share ideas of the strategies. This year the seminary will be devoted to the art of documentation and documenting an art.

The artists which work with Wschodnia Gallery from its very beginning and are connected to it, have been invited to this year edition of Supermarket (February, 19-21) to present their works and the works of other artists from Lodz as well as the documentation of Lodz "progressive scene".

Polish Institute in Stockholm has collaborated with Supermarket for three years and so far invited to Sweden four Polish galleries and artistic initiatives which are Wyspa (Gdansk), Szu Szu (Warsaw), f.a.i.t. (Cracow) and lokal_30 (Warsaw).
