Construction in Process V
1995, Mizpeh Ramon, Israel

The fifth Construction in Process, called Co-existence took place in Israel, in the Negev desert, in 1985. Around 130 artists, poets, musicians, critics, politicians from all over the world participated in the event; in tribute to the year of peace in the Middle-east, the event was remarkable as - for the first time ever - existed the participation of neighbouring Arab countries and the Palestinian self-rule areas, in an international artistic project in the Negev desert.

"Stranded hundreds of kilometers from the nearest gallery, artists were left to their own devices (...) It is refreshing to see an independent international exhibition that doesn't pander to curators or the press." - Sarah Bayliss, 'World Art', 1993
